Overview
Turning audience presence into visual input
Circadelic is an immersive projection installation that combines live camera input, generative visuals, sound, and physical interaction. Audience movement and presence become part of the projected environment, creating a visual experience that changes in response to the people within it.
As part of the four-person team, I developed the TouchDesigner visual system, worked with camera capture as an interactive input, and designed and assembled the projection screen installation. My work focused on connecting live audience input with the projected visual environment.
Development
Building the visual system in TouchDesigner
I developed the visual system in TouchDesigner to generate and transform the projected imagery in real time. Camera capture was used as an input to bring the audience's physical presence into the visual environment, connecting what happened in the space with what appeared on screen.
I also worked on the physical installation of the projection screens, considering the relationship between the projected image, the audience, and the surrounding space. This connected the digital visual system with the physical conditions of the installation.
