Let There Be Light
A Bluetooth-connected physical computing installation

Design Intent
Designing for discovery through physical interaction
The interface was designed to encourage discovery without relying on verbal instructions.
Physical controls, light, and movement provide visual and tactile cues that invite users to experiment with different functions and gradually understand how the installation responds to their actions.
Separating the controls from the moving elements also makes the interaction less predictable. The user does not simply operate a lamp; their actions set a larger physical system in motion.
Spatial Experience
Extending interaction beyond a fixed viewpoint
The wireless setup allows interaction to extend beyond a fixed control position. Users can move through the space while observing how the lantern, lattice, and lights respond, encountering the installation from different viewpoints.
This approach makes the interaction part of the spatial experience itself. The same system can be adapted to multiple connected elements, allowing the relationship between control, movement, and environment to become more complex as the installation grows.
