Overview
How flowering plants grow and reproduce
This two-poster series presents plant life at two scales. The first maps the tomato plant's complete life cycle as a timeline, from seed dormancy through germination, flowering, fruiting and seed dispersal. The second zooms in on pollination, comparing the tomato plant with other species and their pollination strategies.
Process
Connecting two scales through one visual system
Early studies tested circular timelines and branching diagrams. The final pair uses a continuous path to show the repeating life cycle and a branching map to compare pollination methods. Watercolor illustrations connect the two posters.
