KEKOU International Grocery
A retail experience connecting food, language, and culture
{design research, brand identity, animation, illustration, UI/UX design}
Overview
Learning through the grocery experience
KEKOU is an international grocery store project designed to build awareness of food cultures. The experience helps customers learn about unfamiliar ingredients and understand how they are used in different recipes.
I developed KEKOU as my undergraduate thesis project at The Ohio State University, combining physical store communication with digital retail touchpoints.
Design
Connecting the store and digital experience
The project brings together store graphics, branding, illustration, motion, and interface design. Physical and digital touchpoints present ingredient information and recipe guidance as part of the shopping experience.
Process
Building a consistent retail system
KEKOU was developed as one connected retail experience rather than a collection of separate design outputs. The visual identity, environmental graphics, illustrations, motion, and digital interfaces use a consistent system across the project.
